Donating Catering, How You Can Make A Difference!

Updated: Apr 25, 2020

Did you know that you could place a catering order for delivery and support a great cause at the same time? The other day one generous customer did just that. The Ronald McDonald House has a program called Meals from the Heart, and our customer helped feed 30 family members at the Park Avenue Ronald McDonald House.

The Meals from the Heart program allows you to donate breakfast or dinner to one of the Ronald McDonald House locations. "We couldn't have been happier to provide the families with our panini platters, wrap platters, a fruit tray, and a cookie platter. Have you had our cookies? They're delicious," says Mike Ratz, owner and head chef of UKRAFT.

The Ronald McDonald House provides low to no-cost lodging to families that travel to the St. Louis area seeking medical care for their children. "We are blessed to live in a city that has access to top-notch healthcare. Between Washington University Medical Center, St. Louis University, and Mercy, we have a lot of families that travel to St. Louis seeking medical care for their children. They need a safe place to call home, and the Ronald McDonald House provides just that," says Matt Ratz, owner of UKRAFT.

In St. Louis, we have three Ronald McDonald House locations. One located in Creve Coeur on the Mercy Hospital campus, one in the Central West End near St. Louis Children's Hospital, and one on Park Avenue near Cardinal Glennon. All locations allow you to sign up for meal donations. They serve dinner every day of the week and provide breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays.

"Growing up, our sister was sick and spent several years receiving care at St. Louis Children's Hospital. When she was 18 years old, she received a kidney transplant. My mom always said the hardest part of parenthood was watching a child suffer and not being able to fix the problem. We know these families are under a great deal of stress, having a sick child is unimaginable and the last thing these parents want to do is figure out what to cook for dinner. Meals from the Heart is a great program, and we love that our customer chose UKRAFT to cater the dinner," he added.

UKRAFT Cafe and Catering have breakfast, lunch, and dinner catering options. Whether you want to donate Breakfast or Dinner to the Ronald McDonald house, UKRAFT can help!
